If All The Hate In This World Has You Bummed, Then its Time to Focus Your Energy Here

TCW Notebook

“Ignore the media and negative people in your life.”

“Follow your heart.”

“Seize the moment.”

“Pursue your dreams.”

Who doesn’t love a great motivational statement?  Words strung together to light the fire inside of you to get you moving, to work, and make miracles happen.

Honestly, I am a sucker for them and collect them.  You can find them through pictures on my walls, on my daily calendar, throughout my photo album on my phone, and websites I have bookmarked.  I crave inspiration in my life.  I hold onto the motivational statements that ignite my inner fire and/or pull on my heart strings.  Then I share those with you throughout TCW and in my personal life.

I know I am not alone with how many of these statements fill my social media accounts, emails, and text messages from my family and friends.  I believe we all crave the opportunity to be inspired.

Where I want you to focus on is what you do with these statements. Let me explain.

All the statements like, “Seize the moment,” are telling you what to do.  They are instructions for you to do something, which is great, but we need to remember one more step to ensure success in this process.  What is your WHY??  WHY do you want to “seize the moment, follow your heart, and pursue your dreams,”?  This must first be answered so you can make changes in your life.

To learn your why, you need to spend sometime with yourself, in your mind, and figure it out.  One of the best ways I learn about myself, and suggest you try it out, is through journaling.  This is not only an activity for middle school girls, or only girls in general.  Throughout my life when I have consistently spent time, even as little as 15 minutes a day, documenting my thoughts I have decreased my anxiety, insomnia, and my over analyzing tendencies.

The best part is this commitment has brought me peace, direction, drive, and knowing what my why is so when I read motivational statements I am ready.  I now can get to work.

Are you ready???  Do you want to be?

Challenge yourself!  Take 15-30 minutes a day, even if you start with 3-5 days a week, to journal your thoughts.  Give yourself an opportunity to shut out the rest of the world and listen to yourself.  I bet you will learn so much about yourself while in your thoughts.  Connect with your insecurities, passions, truths, fears, and make a plan how to move forward.  Decide today to learn your why so know what the hell to do with the what next time you hear it.

Cheers lovelies.  “Seize your WHY.”  ~Me

Question:  Do you currently journal? If so what benefits have you got from this activity?  If not, are you willing to try it and see what new possibilities could come from it?

Side note:  This week’s lovely picture is of an awesome new notebook a TCW member, friend, and one of the biggest supporters of me and this community, Shelley Fontenot, made for me.  I FREAKIN’ LOVE IT!  This is my new journal to use to discuss life and what I want for TCW.  First entry made today.  I am designing some to sell for you all!  If you are interested, email me at Joey@trulyconfidentwomen.com  Shelley, again, thank you for this, and a million times over for all your love and support.
